The practice of aparigraha

Aprigraha, one of the Yamas and Nyamas (10 yogic ways to live your best life) seems to be constantly knocking on my door to remind me not to be attached, nor possessive and honor that all is impermanent. In yoga we are reminded that we cause our own suffering but when we practice aparigraha, we allow ourselves the freedom to enjoy the present moment and let go of what has happened or what may happen in the future. This is such a good reminder as we enter into election week. Again we beckon back to our breath, allowing that to be our teacher. As we inhale and fill ourselves up with oxygen feeding our cells, we are nourished, then we exhale it all out, letting it all go. I love this quote, “ Trust life like we trust our breath- take in all the nourishment and let it go fully - trusting more nourishment is to come. “ ~ Deborah Adele

As we absorb all that aparigraha has to offer us, we trust in the knowing that all is temporary. If things are going well, enjoy because it won’t last forever. AND if things are going bad, don’t worry. It can’t last forever either.

Thank you to all who came to Halloween Pop Up yoga this weekend! We had a very “bunny” yoga teacher! Next Saturday November 7th, 10:45am I will have another POP UP class (no costumes this time) so meet me for Staige Hill Flow in the barn! Pre-registration required. Email me to sign up.

We have a big week coming up! I hope you will join me to practice yoga together so we can recharge, be still and connect to ourselves, finding peace within.
