Are you curious?

This week we explored cultivating internal curiosity. Did you know that when we take time to check in with ourselves and really listen, we are quieting our minds from all the external chitchat? I just finished the book, The Gift by Edith Eger (see her interview in my blog from Sept 16) She reminds us through her own life struggles that by being curious we can find hope.

Dr. Maria Sirios, one of my favorite Positive Psychologists and friend, also adds that by asking ourselves questions we create a doorway to help us lean into our lives with more hope and a bigger capacity to be resilient. The three questions she invites us to ask are; How can I nourish myself today? How can I strengthen myself today? How can I inspire myself today? There are so many questions we can ask ourselves, just a simple time out and ask, “How am I doing right this moment?” brings us right back to the present moment.

My hope is that we can all cultivate more curiosity this week on and off the mat! If you have an inspiring book, movie or quote please send my way I am pulling together a list for next week.

“When we are curious, we’re here in the present, eager to discover what’s going to happen next? “

~Edith Eger
